In the words of Staind – “It’s Been Awhile” (yes, I’m sure I’m dating myself…)
In fact, my last blog post was back in 2022… that’s not really a break, that’s a hiatus! To be completely transparent, life threw me some curveballs, and my life and business have both seen a lot of changes since then. It’s time to catch you up!
In these past almost 4 years, there’s been a lot of growth, new adventures, plenty of learning, and some very hard seasons, too. Like many people, I’ve been reminded of just how quickly time moves – and how important it is to hold on to the people, milestones, and moments that matter.
In many ways, that’s exactly why photography – and the stories behind each image – feel more meaningful to me than ever.
And perhaps that’s also why bringing back the blog felt so important.
Not only to help you get to know me, my business, and the story behind it all a little better. But also because over these past years, I’ve realized many client questions need to be answered long before anyone steps in front of the camera – and sometimes even before they reach out.
Questions like:
What should we wear?
When should seniors book their photos?
Do I need a professional headshot or a full personal branding session?
How do I not look awkward in photos?
How does your multi-state travel schedule work?
(All very valid questions by the way!)
And while I answer these questions every day with clients, I realized I wanted a place where I could share those answers more openly – along with tips, ideas, and behind-the-scenes insights – in hopes of making the portrait process feel a little easier and a lot less overwhelming.
So that’s why the blog is making a comeback!
