Giving Back | 4th Annual Pink Party Dance Off for breast cancer awareness

Dance your booty off and raise money for breast cancer awareness

Breast cancer has hit close to home for me, with both friends and family fighting the disease, so I have a special place in my heart for organizations that are dedicated to raising money for breast cancer awareness and research. According to the American Cancer Society, 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed and there will be 40,290 deaths from breast cancer in 2015 alone. The statistics are staggering!

The Pink Party Dance Off was started by Lone Tree resident, Cathy Coots, 4 years ago. With three of her sisters dealing with different forms of cancer, Cathy felt impelled to do what she could to bring awareness and help raise funds to help find a cure for the disease. She decided to incorporate her fitness instructor and personal trainer talents into the cause and so the Pink Party Dance Off was born.

This year’s event is being held on Saturday, September 19th from 9am to noon at Lutheran High School in Parker. The cover charge is $10 at the door and raffle tickets are $1-5 with all proceeds going to the Susan B Komen Foundation and Cathy’s Race for the Cure team.

Cathy has rounded up some amazing raffle prizes including spa gift certificates, handmade afghans, and gift baskets. While I am unable to attend the event personally (I’ll be photographing a wedding in Breckenridge that day), I am throwing my support behind the Pink Party Dance Off by donating a couple gift certificates for a half hour family session + 11×14 print (valued at $275).

Please come join in the fun, shake your booty and raise money for a great cause. You can find out more information about the event and raffle prizes on Cathy’s Facebook Page.

Unable to attend but still want to donate? Visit Cathy’s Race for the Cure page and donate today!
