It was truly an honor to photograph this extremely special family session back at my studio in Clarion, Iowa this past October. I had received a phone call from Chris a few weeks before my trip back to Iowa. Her son was getting ready to be deployed to Afghanistan and she really wanted some photographs of his family, especially his 8 month old daughter who he had barely gotten to see since she was born, before he left. Travis was only going to be home for a few short days and I already had a tight schedule but the stars aligned and our schedules completely jived! The only downside was that we had planned on doing some images outside and of course it was super cold and drizzly that day so we were forced to stay in the studio. But we were able to create some amazing images. Since little Kinzley hadn’t had professional photographs taken yet, I definitely made sure to capture a few of her by herself along with some beautiful portraits of her family. These are some of my favorite images from their session and also make sure to check out the video which contains all the images from the session.
To Travis and his family: I’m so honored that you chose me to photograph this very important time in your life and hope I have created images that you will cherish forever. Thank you so much for your service and sacrifice. I pray that you have a safe deployment and safe return back to the states. God bless you all!
