A couple months back I got this awesome email from a past client saying “We are having a little girl at the end of January and would like to do the whole First Year Collection with you, if you are still honoring that for those of us Iowans, because we adored what you did with our son, Max! His newborn session is the best I have ever seen and I have a lot of friends having newborn pictures taken! (and I swear it’s not just because I’m biased!)” This email made my day! I was so excited because I love this family and felt honored that they cherished my work so much they were requesting me to come back and photograph their new little one. Of course I couldn’t say no!
Hallie came into this world a couple days earlier than first planned so she was actually almost two weeks old when we did her newborn photo session. Normally I like to photograph little babies when they are just a few days old, while they are super sleepy and snuggly, but even at almost two weeks old I was able to get her to fall asleep for part of the session. It just took some patience and a few more tricks 🙂 I love it that Libby, the mom, is all about the naked baby with cute accessories look! Just look at those cute bows and hats! I also love it when people bring in special items to personalize the session. With Max’s newborn photo session they had brought in his baby blanket to use in some of the images, so of course with Hallie they did the same. Her pink and brown checkered blanket made a great background and these are some of my favorite images from her session.
I am so excited to share these images with you and can’t wait to watch Hallie grow up this next year 🙂 So without further ado, I present my first newborn of 2013 (also interesting to note, Max was my first newborn of 2011! I see a pattern forming with this family 🙂 )
If you would like to see more of my newborn photography, stop by the website or the studio’s Facebook Page. And also contact us for more information about our First Year Collection, after all, your little ones are only this small once!
