Spoil your sweetie with these ideas this Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner – in fact it’s only 4 days away! If you’re like me, you maybe haven’t even thought about Valentine’s Day and what to get your loved one, but it’s not too late! I’m here to help you with some last minute date ideas for your Valentine this year.

1) PLAN A MINI GETAWAY
It’s always nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and get a chance to spend some much needed “couple time” together. It can be something as simple as a weekend away in the mountains at a quaint little B&B or a romantic night downtown with dinner, drinks and an overnight stay at a nice hotel. Jump on a travel guide site like LonelyPlanet.com and get some weekend getaway ideas rolling!

2) HAVE AN INDOOR PICNIC
Set up a romantic lunch or dinner for two in your living room. Spread out a cozy blanket and enjoy finger foods like fresh fruit, chocolates, cheeses and (of course!) wine. Enjoy each others’ company then snuggle up in the blanket and put on your favorite movie or play your favorite board game.

3) MAKE IT AN ALL DAY AFFAIR
How often do you get to spend a whole day with your love, doing things together? Why not plan an entire Date Day? Maybe check out an art exhibit during the day and hit up a sporting event that evening. Or head up to the mountains for a day on the slopes. Are you more the “stay at home” type people? Go out to a wonderful brunch at your favorite place, then head back home and enjoy some uninterrupted time together. The possibilities are endless!

4) A ROMANTIC DINNER FOR TWO
This is an oldie but a goodie! Plan a romantic dinner for the two you at your place. Cook your significant other’s favorite meal and make it extra special by setting the scene – break out the good dishes, the nice linens, some candlelight and splurge on a nice bottle of wine. Not a culinary master in the kitchen? Grab some takeout from your favorite place or make reservations at a fancy restaurant.

5) RECREATE YOUR FIRST DATE
Take a trip down memory lane and recreate your first date. Make reservations at the restaurant you went to, rent the movie you saw at the theater – whatever you did on that first date, do it again.

No matter what you decide to do, just remember it’s not about the lavish gifts or the amount of money you spend, it’s about spending time with the one you love. And if you happen to pop the question and are in need of a wedding photographer, please contact me. I’d love to hear your story! Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
