Meet Frances, one of our Class of 2014 Spokesmodels who is helping us spread the word of our senior photography at our Clarion, Iowa studio location. This soon-to-be high school senior can be found running cross country, playing softball this summer, or once school starts up this fall she’ll be busy with chorus and drama. We are very excited to have her be one of our senior spokesmodels this year!

Here’s what Frances had to say about her senior spokesmodel session: “My senior model session was great! It was a lot of fun taking pictures with Kristina! My pictures were great looking and it was awesome to get my make-up done by Appearances Salon & Spa. It was awesome to get to see my pictures within days of my session!”

And speaking of makeup application, we want you to look your best and feel like a model for your senior session. That’s why this year we have added a complimentary professional makeup application to our Location Senior Collection. You’ll also have the option of adding on makeup to any of our other collections as well. These services are available for seniors in both Iowa and Colorado. Denver Colorado & Iowa Senior Portrait Photography | Alec Class of 2014 Spokesmodel

Meet class of 2014 senior spokesmodel Alec. Alec is very personable and outgoing. He enjoys running cross country and track during the school year and manning the lifeguard stand at the local pool in the summer. Alec is already working hard to spread the word about our senior photography to his friends and I’m so excited to have him as one of our 2014 spokesmodels!

Here’s what Alec had to say about his senior model session: “My senior session was awesome! It gave me the first feel of the downhill stretch of high school. The pictures are really sharp, up to look at within days, and you’re completely flexible with what we wanted!”

Denver Colorado & Iowa Portrait Photography | Lorelei Turns Three

Shortly after I relocated to Denver, CO a year ago, one of my awesome family clients moved from Iowa to Mississippi. I was so sad because I thought I wouldn’t get the chance to photograph adorable little Lorelei’s three year session. However, the stars aligned and both the family and I were in Iowa at the same time and right around her birthday! So mom, dad and Lorelei made the trek from Des Moines to my studio space in Clarion for a celebratory birthday session. I couldn’t get over how big Lorelei had gotten since the last time I had seen her a year ago. She’s so cute and a very smart three year old! I adore her beautiful golden locks and when her mom curled them she looked like such a little lady.

And soon Miss Lorelei will be a big sister as the family welcomes their 2nd child into the family this August. A trip to Mississippi is already being planned to photograph the new addition! So if you are in Mississippi and want a session in the beginning of August, contact us for more details!

I love me some newborn photography! Little Kaeson came into the world just a few weeks early so by the time I got to meet him he was almost 17 days old. But that didn’t keep him from taking a little snooze during his newborn session which worked out well for some of our poses. Kaeson’s dad is a volunteer firefighter and also big into race car driving, so of course it was only natural to incorporate both of these things into the photo session. In fact his little newborn blanket is made out of some of his dad’s old racing t-shirts and made for a great, unique background. But I must say that my favorite images are those with the fire fighter gear

Denver Colorado Commercial Photography | Mama Mahoney Creation’s Resort Collection

You may remember my feature of Mama Mahoney Creation’s photo session here in Denver a couple months back for the next edition of the CRAVE Denver book. Well Mama has been busy and just released a new line of bags and totes just in time for spring! Janice’s new Resort Line features bags in various sizes from small quilted pouches perfect to use as makeup bags all the way up to a large tote that will actually hold 2-3 full sized beach towels. I had the opportunity to photograph her new collection before she sent her samples off to Chicago. Janice wanted to do some “real life” images of the bags in action so we loaded up a few of her favorites, grabbed a couple of props and headed off to one of Denver’s many reservoirs for a beach feel. I love that these bags come in so many sizes – something for everyone – and you can customize it by choosing your fabric and closure type. I’ve already got my Mama Mahoney Creation bag ready for my summer trips – you should do the same!

Denver Colorado & Iowa Portrait Photography | Bo Turns Two

Meet Bo. This little cutie just turned two a couple of months ago and came into the Iowa studio to celebrate with a special photo session. I just love this stage in a child’s life because they are so curious. As soon as I brought out the suit case prop he really wanted to see what was inside or carry it around so it did take a little convincing to get him to take a seat on it. Bo also had brought one of his favorite toys, his John Deere tractor, along with him to the studio so of course we had to incorporate it into the session. He had a blast lining up the blocks to create a road for his tractor. I also just love his super cute outfits. I’m a sucker for little cuties in ties

Denver Colorado Wedding Photography | Irish Bohemian Style Shoot

If you follow the studio on Facebook or Twitter, I’m sure you have seen me talk about this Irish Bohemian style shoot that I had the pleasure of working on with some of the best wedding vendors in the Denver area. A lot of people ask me what a “wedding style shoot” is exactly and basically it’s when a group of wedding vendors come together to create a staged setting for a wedding. Sometimes it’s a simple tablescape, other times it’s an elaborate affair that includes decorating for a ceremony site as well as a reception. Why do we do it you might ask? It’s a great way for us to work with different vendors to create a vision for a wedding day that we might not otherwise see. It’s a way for us to showcase our talents and share them with the world!

I have always wanted to do a wedding style shoot since I started my studio back in 2009 so I knew as soon as I moved to Colorado, this was something I wanted to take on. In the past month I have been a part of two wedding style shoots and I can’t wait to share them with you!

First up is the Irish Bohemian wedding style shoot that took place at The Manor House in Littleton. For this shoot, I partnered with Cydney at Stiletto Events to create this concept. We knew we wanted to incorporate St. Patrick’s Day as well as touches of the color emerald since it is the color for 2013. Cydney called upon her Italian/Irish background for inspiration and even asked family members about Irish traditions, specifically wedding related, that we could tie into the shoot. When she was putting together all of the ideas, she kept the design very simple and clean as we didn’t want to go too far overboard with the theme. We also incorporated some DIY details to show brides that you can have something beautiful yet affordable. For example, the head piece that the bride wore was simply made out of a length of tulle that you can find at any fabric store and accented with a fake flower to give it that Boho feel.

I just love how all of the details and wedding vendors came together to create this amazing photo shoot. Enjoy the images and make sure to check out all the amazing vendors listed below!

Denver Colorado & Iowa Portrait Photography | Model Session at the Highlands Ranch Mansion

I have been dying to photograph at the beautiful Highlands Ranch Mansion since I found it on the internet. This stunning mansion is 121-year old and is the namesake for Highlands Ranch. I loved all the architectural details and just the presence that the mansion has. So beautiful!

Keegan, a model here in Denver, contacted me a couple weeks ago needing some new images for his portfolio. He said he was in need of some clean images and after taking a look at what he currently had in his portfolio, we decided to do something a little more dressy. The mansion was the perfect background for this session, and to top it all off, we had gotten a few inches of snow the day before so everything looked crisp and clean. I just love how all these images turned out!
