I absolutely love photographing Lorelei – she’s so cute, smart, and says some of the funniest things! Her mom said that one day when she asked Lorelei what she wanted to wear to daycare, Lorelei responded quite matter-of-factly “I want to wear a beautiful dress!” Even at age two she’s definitely a little fashionista in the making – I mean just look at her cute outfits! And like her parents, who were both music majors in college, she loves music. Every time I photograph her or edit her session, the song Skinny Marinky Dinky Dink pops in my head because that’s the song her dad would always sing during her earlier sessions to make her smile. This time around, we turned on some tunes she could dance to and she just went to town showing us all her moves. She’s just so darn cute!

Iowa & Denver Children’s Portrait Photography | Little Logan’s 8 month session

Before I closed the studio location in Cedar Rapids, IA, Logan and his mom and dad came in for one last studio session. I have had the honor of photographing Logan since he was just a newborn. In fact, he was my very first session in the CR studio so this was a little bitter sweet for me. It’s crazy to think that I was in Cedar Rapids for a year and got the chance to photograph Logan 3 times in that time frame and am so excited to see him again in June for his 1 year session. Here are a few of my favorite images from his 8 month session.

Iowa & Denver Family Portrait Photography | Introducing Cyprus and Paxton

Some of you may remember little Paxton from a previous blog post last year. Well he came back to the studio and brought his new little sister, Cyprus, for her first professional photography session! This time around, Paxton gave me a lot more smiles and giggles than the last time (and we didn’t even have to break out the fruit snacks!). He was just hamming it up in front of the camera for me. Little Cyprus was such a doll – I mean look just how cute she is with those big blue eyes! She was just so content even with mom changing her outfit three times and being photographed on multiple backgrounds. They are just such a cute little family! Maybe next time Paxton will let me get a photo of him with baby sister.

Iowa & Denver Children’s Portrait Photography | Celebrating Mahlynn’s First Birthday

Mahlynn sure has grown so much since I photographed her for the first time back in November of last year. She came to visit me at the new studio space in Clarion the day before her big first birthday party. Poor Mahlynn wasn’t feeling the greatest (I think she was just too excited for her party!) so after trying to coax some smiles out of her but only getting tears instead, we opted to reschedule the session and try again on a different day. When she came back a week later, she was much happier, showed off her personality and we got to capture the many faces of little Mahlynn. She’s just too cute for words! Happy birthday Mahlynn!

Little Miss Reiland came in to see me when she was just 4 months old. What a cutie! Her mom had told me she wanted to wait to bring her in until she was to the smiling stage and so here they were. However, when we started the session Reiland would just give me little half smiles (which if you ask me are still adorable!), not the big grins her mom was used to seeing at home. I tried everything, talking with her, making funny faces and sounds, then finally bringing out Reiland’s favorite thing – dad’s cell phone playing her favorite song. That did it! She’s such a little cutie and I hope I get the opportunity to photograph her again in the future!

This year is seriously flying by – how is it already May 1st?? Actually I made the same comment back in February when Kenlee came in for her four month session. I just couldn’t believe that it was already time for her to come back in for her next session in the First Year Collection! This time around she was all smiles and giggles and of course her mom brought in the cutest little lamb hat for some Easter themed images. It was just too cute!!

Iowa & Denver Children’s Portrait Photography | Little Miss Haddi Comes to Play

I know I have said this before in previous posts about Little Miss Haddi, but she has the biggest, darkest, most beautiful eyes ever! And on top of the beautiful features she has a great personality and a very happy demeanor. During her previous session she gave me more of her serious side but this time she brought the smiles. I love being able to see all my First Year Collections kids grow and develop throughout the year!

Iowa & Denver Children’s Portrait Photography | Quincy Jane turns Two

I can hardly believe that my little niece is already two! I still remember spending the 5 hours doing her newborn session when she was just 3 days old (little stinker wouldn’t fall asleep for anything!). It’s been so much fun watching her grow over these past two years, photographing her at every opportunity that I get. I love it that when she’s at grandma’s house she will go over, pick up one of the newborn photos and then proudly exclaim “that’s Quincy Jane!”.

Up to this point, photographing Quincy hasn’t been much of a challenge, but her two year session was a little different. She’s becoming more independent by the day and convincing her to stay in a general area is becoming a little harder (especially when she’s at Aunt Tini’s new studio space and wants to explore!). She’s really big into dancing and provide her with some blocks and she goes to town stacking them up and then knocking them over. We finally did get her coxed into crawling up into a chair or two just so we could get some cute smiling photos, although the ones where she’s being goofy and showing her personality are my favorites!

Iowa Portrait Photography | The 2013 High School Senior Models

It’s that time again to start chatting about our senior season and introduce our fantastic senior models to the world! At Kristina Lynn Photography & Design we want to make your senior session all about you, creating photos that capture your personality as you get ready to enter your senior year of high school. That’s why with our senior collections we have different options for you to choose from so you can find what bests suits you. We have a studio session for those that want a low key, but still fun and creative session (only available in Clarion, Iowa). An urban session that let’s us explore different places outdoors to create some really unique images and includes up to three outfit changes. And the location session that let’s us travel further out to a location that is very meaningful for you and includes unlimited outfit changes for a lot of variety.

So to help us spread the word about our fun, trendy senior sessions – we’ve enlisted the help from a few great soon-to-be-seniors from CGHS. Matt, Macoy, Courtney and Kaitlin each came into the studio for a quick mini session about a month ago so they could see and experience how much fun we have during a senior session. Using a few of their images, we created them a set of senior model cards that have a great little deal for other members of the class of 2013. If you are interested in having us take your senior photos, ask around and see if you can get your hands on one of these cards for a little extra savings!
